A safe and short-term refuge is available to survivors with security risks, have limited resources, and have nowhere else to go to escape and abusive situation.
It is the only shelter that accepts both mothers and their children as well as significant others who are survivors themselves. At the shelter, residents receive crisis intervention and support services and are assured of emotional support as they try to recover from the trauma of violence.
They are also provided with educational sessions, skills training, empowerment workshops and other therapeutic activities. The TSP facilitates referral to other shelters and institutions especially for survivors needing longer-term support
The RETIFVP is the training arm of WCC that evolved from its education and training program. Named after WCC’s late Executive Director who introduced feminist counselling in the Philippines, it supports the training need of staff and survivors as well as of other service providers and advocates of violence prevention. Using strategies of feminist andragogy, RETIFVP offers workshops on Feminist Approaches to Crisis Intervention, Setting Up and Managing Crisis Centers for Survivors of VAW, and related subjects.
